Since his triumphant return to the Philippines last year, Gabby Concepcion has been very visible in showbiz, much to the joy and excitement of his fans who waited 13 years for him to come back to the limelight. The original heartthrob returns and gracefully proves he still has that star quality.
This time, Gabby is starting to earn a name for himself in the recording industry. After releasing his successful self-titled debut which earned a Gold award, Gabby Concepcion once again serenades listeners with his new album titled Unforgettable.
Although he admits that he never dreamt of becoming a recording star, he recalled that it was the late Fernando Poe Jr. himself who encouraged Gabby to learn how to sing. Thanks to the King of Philippine movies, music aficionados can now enjoy listening to Gabby’s soulful voice.
During the January 10 episode of ASAP XV, Gabby launched his album by singing its carrier single “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” with Zsa Zsa Padilla. Gabby told the audience that day, “These are songs na naalaala natin, well, for those my age and below. This was supposed to be launched last year but we were so busy taping Dahil May Isang Ikaw. Salamat rin pala sa mga nanood ng I Love You Goodbye [referring to his Metro Manila Film Fest entry].”
In his first album, Gabby serenaded his fans with renditions of timeless ballads like “Iisa Pa Lamang” and “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako” as well as hit covers of “Just Once” and “Come What May.” With a gold award after its release, it was a certification of Gabby’s flourishing singing career.
