Aljur Abrenica denies having gay benefactors


GMA-7 lead male actor Aljur Abrenica, in a recent press conference for the upcoming fantasy series Ilumina, denies issues saying that he has gay benefactors.

A member of the entertainment press asked Aljur during the presscon of the new GMA-7 series if he has gay benefactors. Aljur was surprised with the question ,which was delivered with utmost audacity.

Aljur was speechless for a time before he can answer the simple question. He, however, outrightly denied the issue of having gay benefactors.

Aljur is among the main casts of Ilumina, which stars Rhian Ramos and Jackie Rice as Siamese twins who possess supernatural powers. It had been earlier reported that Aljur will be leaving his former onscreen partner Kris Bernal for a new loveteam with Rhian. Ilumina is also among the first projects of newly transferred Kapuso star Cesar Montano.

It was confirm that the young star is indeed preggy, with another starstruck alumni as the father of the baby.

Iba’t ibang pangalan ang nabanggit sa mga report tungkol sa offer ng GMA-7 para sa pag-host ng Season 3 ng Survivor Philippines.

Nabanggit sina Chris Tiu, JC Tiuseco, Paolo Abrera, at Dingdong Dantes sa diumano’y kinukunsidera bilang kapalit ni Paolo Bediones to host Survivor Philippines Season 3. Lumipat na kasi si Paolo sa TV 5 kung saan bukod sa paglabas sa TV ay may managerial position din ito sa naturang network.

Joross Gamboa is The Newest Kapuso Star

Encantadia “The Second Saga”

It just started as a spin-off to Mulawin but Encantadia became such a hit in Mega Manila that it was extended to its second book entitled “Etheria” and extended even further with Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas.

In July 2005, according to AGB Nielsen Media Research, Encantadia topped primetime ratings by earning 22.6% in total individual charts and a chunk rating of 40%, overtaking Darna, Sugo and Kampanerang Kuba. Encantadia was only beaten by Darna on June. It never lost in the ratings game after that span of time, in December of that same year GMA’s Rival network launched Panday to pit against Encantadia and Sugo but Panday failed to dent the ratings of both Encantadia and Sugo thus it was axed after a few weeks of airing. Among all soap operas in the Philippines has the highest ratings of 45% average (usually 40% above) according to AGB, a local media research firm.

In the teaser released by GMA in theaters on Christmas Day and during the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival run, another sequel of Encantadia is set for 2010 and it has a tentative title Encantadia: Isang Bagong Mundo. The title in the teaser, however, says “Encantadia: The Second Saga.” The images are blurred which means there’s no confirmed cast yet for the said fantaserye. But according to reports, GMA is eyeing for Rhian Ramos, Carla Abellana, Jennylyn Mercado and Jackie Rice for the ’sanggre’ roles. Iza Calzado (the original Amihan) or Claudine Barretto will play the role of Ynang Reyna.
