Angelica keeps mum on Claudine’s threat

Angelica Panganiban will remain silent on fellow actress Claudine Barretto’s plans to file a court case against her.

In a report published on the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Claudine alleged that Angelica was the source of ugly rumors that she has an extra-marital affair with a common friend, Martin Castro, who is very much married and also a close friend of Derek Ramsey and Raymart Santiago.

Angelica’s lawyer, Joji Alonso, released a statement read on ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday, August 29:

“Angelica has been advised to keep silent. There’s no need for her to say anything, moreso in reaction to what has been said. She has not done anything wrong, much less malign Claudine. On the contrary, it is Angelica who is being maligned by these unfounded accusations. Neither is there a need to dignify this incident by saying something more than what has already been said.”

Denying that Angelica ever made any claim about Claudine’s supposed extra-marital affair, the lawyer further said: “Whatever more that is said against Angelica shall be cause of the filing of appropriate civil and criminal cases.”

In the PEP.ph report, Claudine denied any romantic links with Martin and that they are only friends. She added Martin and Raymart remain as close friends.

Asked what drove Angelica to make such accusations, Claudine told PEP that the actress was out to destroy Martin’s friendship with Derek. “Gusto niyang sirain si Derek at si Martin. Ipinagkakalat niya na addict si Martin,” she said.

In addition, Claudine said she was also out to protect her sister Gretchen’s reputation, which Angelica had besmirched in Twitter messages. She also claimed that in a party they all attended, Angelica had talked to guests about Gretchen’s supposed gifts to Derek, her longtime boyfriend. Gretchen and Angelica have since patched up their differences.

In a separate PEP report, Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan expressed full support for Angelica, one of their prized talents, in this controversy.

“She is feisty, irreverent, sometimes crude, but never a liar,” Mr. M said.

“Whoever is behind the web of lies and falsehoods being spun in print, Twitter, and other media must be a very disturbed individual. I only hope this nonsense stops before it destroys the perpetrator,” he added.

To Claudine, one of his original talents in the network who has since moved to rival station GMA-7, Mr. M did not mince any words in another message to PEP: “Go Ahead! Sue, Claudine. Make our Day! Para bellum (Prepare for war).”

Did Crawford give up his int’l career for love?

Singer Billy Crawford has disputed reports that he gave up his international career for girlfriend Nikki Gil.

“Well, puso ko ginive up ko kay Nikki… She’s part of the reason why I’m here,” he said.

But one of the major reasons he is staying here is his showbiz commitments. The singer, a contract star of ABS-CBN, is co-hosting musical variety program “ASAP XV” and game show “Panahon Ko ‘To! Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko.”

His international career has not been put on hold though. In fact, he will go back to France next year to complete the recording of his new album.

“I’m recording an album now. Seven na ‘yong tapos na kanta. May seven pa akong kailangang gawin. So, I have to fly by next year, by February nasa France na ako,” he said.

Crawford has gained popularity in Europe and Asia after his songs, “When You Think About Me”, “Never My Love”, “Steamy Nights” and “Bright Lights,” became a huge hit.

In 2003, he bagged the “International Male Artist of the Year” award at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France.

On his relationship with Gil, meanwhile, the singer quickly shot down rumors that they will soon tie the knot. “We are still keeping our relationship private. Matagal pa ‘yon (wedding). Bata pa siya.”

‘25 B.C.’ concert

Crawford, who is fondly called Billy Joe, will celebrate his 25th year in show business via a major concert dubbed “25 B.C.” The concert will be held on September 11, 18 and 25 at the Music Museum.

“Parang recap of everything that I’d been through. ‘Yong mga nakasama ko, ‘yong mga kanta nila kakantahin ko. Yong mga inspirations ko sila Kuya Gary V (Valenciano), sila Michael Jackson ganoon,” Crawford said.

Angel Aquino on playing Vera in Magkaribal

ABS-CBN.com spotted Angel Aquino rushing to make it to the thanksgiving celebration of Magkaribal last August 14. Angel–also known as Vera in the story–is very thankful for the success and the high praises that they are earning from the viewers. “It only means na very successful ang—Vera Couture dapat sasabihin ko tuloy—ang Magkaribal and we are all so grateful and happy that we are received very well by everyone even mga tao na hindi talaga regularly nanonood ng soap, they are also watching Magkaribal even mga lalaki so it is so overwheming!”

Angel considers Magkaribal as one of the biggest blessings in her life. Many noticed her acting prowess and her effectiveness as the antagonist in the story. “Naiisip ko dati hindi talaga (ako) napapansin and I am glad that now nakikita na yung mga effort that I put into (my work). It is the most different and difficult na character I have ever played kaya talagang napapansin.” ABS-CBN.com asked her where she gets her inspiration from and she said, “Kasi I have always liked watching the Sharon-Cuneta-Cherrie Gil scenes in their movies so kahit papano alam ko how a ‘maldita’ carries herself, ganun lang. I tried lang to look like that.”

Angel loves how colorful her character is and admits that it has big impact on her life. “Naku, minsan parang nadadala ko na sa totoong buhay na kapag binabasa ko yung script naiinis na talaga ako. May mga times na kapag nagto-throw lines kami, sometimes Gretchen (Barreto)’s character would say something na nakakainis, naaapektuhan talaga ako, nakakainis talaga si Victoria. Basta even us actors we don’t know what’s going to happen to each character and to the story, we are all always excited but we just know that we stay true to our characters.”

She shares that she is also glad to see Gretchen happy because of the success of their show. She feels that she they have become good friends since they started taping. “Kasi she has waited for this project for the longest time, more than a year before it finally came to reality. It’s really hers from the beginning. Madami nang nangyari, muntik na ma-shelve but it still pushed through and it is doing so well so kaya talagang hindi siya makapaniwala.”

Coco Martin keeps hands off Kris-James marital woes

Young actor Coco Martin is keeping his distance from Kris Aquino and James Yap’s impending separation.

Martin, Aquino’s co-star in the now defunct teleserye “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” is being romantically linked to the actress-television host. The young actor vehemently denied the speculation, saying he considers Aquino as his older sister.

He also said he has high respect for the actress and her family.

“Nagkaroon na ng ganyang isyu noon, which is hindi naman kami naapektuhan. Kumbaga hinahayaan na lang namin ang mga tao. Hindi naman namin maco-control kung ano ang iisipin nila at sasabihin sa amin,” Martin said after signing a 4-film contract with ABS-CBN’s movie outfit Star Cinema on Monday.

He also admitted that he is still in constant communication with his “Ate Kris.” “Sabi ko nga kung alam lang nila kung gaano kabait ang Aquino family at ang pagsuporta at ang suportang binibigay sa akin ni Ate Kris.”

Did he ever give an advice to Aquino regarding her marriage to Yap?

“Unang una, mas matanda siya sa akin. Nahihiya naman ako na ako pa ang mag-advice or magsalita sa ganyang bagay. Lalong lalo na nai-isyu kami parang ayokong [magsalita]. Alam ko naman na kayang kaya na ni Ate Kris yan. Ako sa mga naitutulong nila sa akin, sobra akong nagpapasalamat,” he said.

Martin said, as a friend, he hopes Aquino and Yap will eventually reconcile for the sake of their son, 3-year-old Baby James. He said he already met Yap and he found him nice.

Aside from Martin, Aquino is also romantically linked to young actor Gerald Anderson, Sen. Francis Escudero and Makati Mayor Jejomar “Junjun” Binay Jr.

When asked to comment on Aquino’s alleged new love, Martin said: “Ako personally hindi ako naniniwala doon. Sa pagkakakilala ko kay Ms. Kris, sa dami ng iniisip niya, sa dami ng ginagawa niya, wala na siyang panahon sa ganoong bagay.”

1st mainstream film

Dubbed as Prince of Indie due to his numerous independent movies, Martin is set to star in his first ever mainstream film titled “Sa ‘Yo Lamang.” He will star alongside Zanjoe Marudo, Christopher de Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Enchong Dee, Bea Alonzo and Shaina Magdayao.

Magdayao will be his love interest in the film.

“Sobrang excited ako kasi ito ang kauna-unahan kong mainstream na pelikula. Tapos siyempre ang director ko pa dito ay si direk Laurice Guillen na sobrang galing,” Martin said.

He is also scheduled to do a suspense-horror film titled “Dalaw” under Star Cinema, with Diether Ocampo, Mariel Rodriguez, Maja Salvador and Aquino.

Another movie with hunk actor John Lloyd Cruz is also lined-up for him.

While he is excited to do mainstream movies, Martin is not turning his back on independent films. “Hindi ko iiwan kasi doon ako nagsimula at never, never kong tatalikuran ‘yong pinanggalingan ko.”

Pokwang, Tsugi na sa Wowowee?


NALALAPIT na ang katapusan ng Hulyo, ngunit ang kaguluhan sa Wowowee ay hindi pa rin naglalaho at ngayon ay mas pinalala pa ang isyu ng lumabas ang balitang babalik na ang dating main host ng show na si Willie Revillame. Sa kanyang pagbabalik daw ay masisibak na ang mga female hosts at nauna na nga rito si RR Enriquez na kung saan ay wala na talaga siya sa show.

Hmmm… bakit kaya siya tsinugi? Hindi kaya ililipat siya sa evening program na babagay ang kanyang mga outfit na parang hindi siya aware na maraming manonood sa sobrang pag-expose ng kanyang katawan? Joke!
May mga balita ring naglipanang magre-reformat na ang programang Wowowee at isa na sa mga chikkang tsutsugihin na rin si Pokwang, ngunit wala pa itong kasiguraduhan at sa ngayon ay haka-haka lamang maging ang balitang pagbabalik ni Willie.

Robin Padilla is Sleeping At Mariel’s Condo

Mariel Rodriguez, actress denied that Robin Padilla is sleeping over her condominium unit these past few days. Robin met Mariel when he became the first guest host of Noontime show Wowowee for two weeks, because Willie Revillame is still on Indefinite leave following a word war with Jobert Sucaldito.

Both of them are denied the rumors. According to Mariel Rodriguez, “Sobrang gentleman ni Robin Padilla, sobra. Walang mali sa kanya. Sobra niyang gentleman so hindi siya ‘yong type na [ganoon],” . For those people that are fans of Mariel, she just recently broke up with actor Zanjoe Marudo.

Sam Pinto choosed acting over hosting

The model turned housemate turned star turned down the offer to be the host of a popular TV show, Wowowee.

According to her, the reason she turned it down is that she want to focus on her acting career. She said that it was her dream to be an actress. There are also speculations that the reason that Sam turn the offer down is because she is romantically link with the main ma, Willie Revillame. She also been dubbed as  Mrs. Wowowee, but said she and Willie remain good friends. This beautiful young lady is gearing up for her newest TV project “Elias Paniki” with her former suitor, Jake Cuenca.

Ai-ai and aga in a new sitcom

The matinee idol and the comedy queen were set to do a romantic-comedy sitcom at ABS-CBN. According to the comedy queen Ai-ai de las alas, there is still not tentative date yet when to show will be shown and it will be shoot at Tagaytay City and will be directed by Jeffrey Jeturian. As per the Matinee Idol, Aga Muhlach, when asked if he’s will to have kissing with Ai-ai, he answered, “I don’t mind. Tingnan mo naman si Ai-Ai. Lahat nagpapakamatay diyan. Never naging zero ang love life niyan,” as a phrase to show that he is willing to have that kind of sceen.

Karylle still hurts on the wardrobe malfunction

A few weeks ago it was Anne Curtis who is in the “lime light” due to her wardrobe malfunction at ASAP XV in Boracay. And after a few weeks of being a “talk of the town”, and Anne decided not to file any case to those who post and re-post her pictures and video,, it was now Karylle’s turn to be in the same spot that Anne had been.

Zsazsa Padilla’s daughter with her former husband, a doctor, is now undergoing the same stand Anne had. According to source Karylle was still hurting in the “nip slip” controversial happen while performing too.

Christopher apologized to his wife.

After a “not-so-controversial” outburst on showtime. Christopher Roxas make it up to his wife Gladys Reyes.  The said Outburst was about the supposed to be “showdown” between him and dancer Wowie De Guzman, the couple was the featured judges last in showtime.

According to hm, he needs to say what he feels about his seatmate, that ” nabubuwisit na siya with is wife. after what happen Christpher apologized to his wife also in the same show. And admit that he’s making up with his wife after the incident…

The two were a long time couple before tie-ing the knot and have two children.
