Everyone’s talking about Marian Rivera! She’s been the newest shining star in local television (and movies with the box office hit, My Best Friend’s Girl Friend). She’s also graced the cover of the Cosmopolitan magazine for this month.

It seems that everyone wants to know the person behind Marian, the new Marimar and soon-to-be Dyesebel. Everyone wants to know every little bit of fact about this gorgeous mestiza.

Family Life

Marian Rivera was born in Madrid Spain but raised in Bacoor Cavite where she finished her schooling. She was raised by her grandmother while her mother worked as an OFW in Spain. Her parents separated when she was just 2 years old.

Early Career

Before landing big on her launching role as Marimar, Marian Rivera did a couple of TV commercial, amongst them are Skin White (Shine) and Sky Flakes.

Her television career started when she audition for a part on an afternoon TV drama show on GMA network being produced by TAPE, Inc.

Production company TAPE Inc. then signed her to cast in a series of afternoon soap operas for GMA Network: Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako, Agawin Mo Man Ang Lahat (where she was named as the “Best New Female Personality” at the 2006 PMPC Star Awards^[3]) and Pinakamamahal. Oyo Boy Sotto was her leading man in these soaps.

Honestly, I never noticed Marian Rivera then. Back then I think Marian is just another pretty face on a television already filled with those kinds.

I did remember her on a prime time telefantacia series on GMA called Super Twins, where she played the mother of the twins.

After Super Twins came Marian’s biggest break – the role of Marimar! Aw!!

She currently has a dance album right now and she is also the new Dyesebel!
