Angelica Panganiban will remain silent on fellow actress Claudine Barretto’s plans to file a court case against her.

In a report published on the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Claudine alleged that Angelica was the source of ugly rumors that she has an extra-marital affair with a common friend, Martin Castro, who is very much married and also a close friend of Derek Ramsey and Raymart Santiago.

Angelica’s lawyer, Joji Alonso, released a statement read on ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday, August 29:

“Angelica has been advised to keep silent. There’s no need for her to say anything, moreso in reaction to what has been said. She has not done anything wrong, much less malign Claudine. On the contrary, it is Angelica who is being maligned by these unfounded accusations. Neither is there a need to dignify this incident by saying something more than what has already been said.”

Denying that Angelica ever made any claim about Claudine’s supposed extra-marital affair, the lawyer further said: “Whatever more that is said against Angelica shall be cause of the filing of appropriate civil and criminal cases.”

In the PEP.ph report, Claudine denied any romantic links with Martin and that they are only friends. She added Martin and Raymart remain as close friends.

Asked what drove Angelica to make such accusations, Claudine told PEP that the actress was out to destroy Martin’s friendship with Derek. “Gusto niyang sirain si Derek at si Martin. Ipinagkakalat niya na addict si Martin,” she said.

In addition, Claudine said she was also out to protect her sister Gretchen’s reputation, which Angelica had besmirched in Twitter messages. She also claimed that in a party they all attended, Angelica had talked to guests about Gretchen’s supposed gifts to Derek, her longtime boyfriend. Gretchen and Angelica have since patched up their differences.

In a separate PEP report, Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan expressed full support for Angelica, one of their prized talents, in this controversy.

“She is feisty, irreverent, sometimes crude, but never a liar,” Mr. M said.

“Whoever is behind the web of lies and falsehoods being spun in print, Twitter, and other media must be a very disturbed individual. I only hope this nonsense stops before it destroys the perpetrator,” he added.

To Claudine, one of his original talents in the network who has since moved to rival station GMA-7, Mr. M did not mince any words in another message to PEP: “Go Ahead! Sue, Claudine. Make our Day! Para bellum (Prepare for war).”

Zantine fans can now rejoice as all is well now between their idols Cristine Reyes and Zanjoe Marudo who had a misunderstanding over malicious posts on Twitter recently. Recall that Cristine got offended by Zanjoe and director Willy Cuevas’ tweets in which the latter asked the former about touching Cristine’s breast for one of the scenes. “im sorry.. hindi ko intensyon na maka offend.. hindi ko alam tong pinasok ko. maq quit na ako dito. im sorry..” read Zanjoe’s last tweet before he deleted his Twitter account on Aug. 20. Zanjoe is said to have personally apologized to Cristine afterwards. And as proof that they have really patched things up, Cristine posted a photo of her with Zanjoe via Twitter on Aug. 25, with the caption: “Can’t fix his twitter. Paano ba? Help us tweeps.”

A few hours before that, she tweeted: “Will fix his twitter later.” And on Aug. 27, Cristine tweeted that Zanjoe brought chili fries on the set of “Kristine.” “Sagana ako sa food palagi sa set!? Chili fries frm Z (Zanjoe’s nickname). puto seco,strawberry frm [Angel Jacob] hash browns frm [Denise Laurel] fish sisig frm [Direk Rory Quintos,” she posted. Zanjoe also apologized to his fans who miss him on Twitter. “Pakisabi sa kanila sorry kung umalis ako sa twitter, di ko kaya pala ng ganun. Pero pagisipan ko kung babalik ako kasi gusto ko rin naman marinig yun mga comments nila about sa trabaho ko. Pero ngayon hindi muna. Salamat sa lahat ng supporta nila,” said the actor in a text message posted on his official Facebook Fan Page.

Singer Billy Crawford has disputed reports that he gave up his international career for girlfriend Nikki Gil.

“Well, puso ko ginive up ko kay Nikki… She’s part of the reason why I’m here,” he said.

But one of the major reasons he is staying here is his showbiz commitments. The singer, a contract star of ABS-CBN, is co-hosting musical variety program “ASAP XV” and game show “Panahon Ko ‘To! Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko.”

His international career has not been put on hold though. In fact, he will go back to France next year to complete the recording of his new album.

“I’m recording an album now. Seven na ‘yong tapos na kanta. May seven pa akong kailangang gawin. So, I have to fly by next year, by February nasa France na ako,” he said.

Crawford has gained popularity in Europe and Asia after his songs, “When You Think About Me”, “Never My Love”, “Steamy Nights” and “Bright Lights,” became a huge hit.

In 2003, he bagged the “International Male Artist of the Year” award at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France.

On his relationship with Gil, meanwhile, the singer quickly shot down rumors that they will soon tie the knot. “We are still keeping our relationship private. Matagal pa ‘yon (wedding). Bata pa siya.”

‘25 B.C.’ concert

Crawford, who is fondly called Billy Joe, will celebrate his 25th year in show business via a major concert dubbed “25 B.C.” The concert will be held on September 11, 18 and 25 at the Music Museum.

“Parang recap of everything that I’d been through. ‘Yong mga nakasama ko, ‘yong mga kanta nila kakantahin ko. Yong mga inspirations ko sila Kuya Gary V (Valenciano), sila Michael Jackson ganoon,” Crawford said.

The Philippines is indeed rejoicing as Ms. Philippine Venus Raj lifted up the country’s spirits as she won the 4th place in the Ms. Universe 2010 beauty pageant held in Mandalay Hotel and Resort USA. Almost all Filipinos were glued to their TV sets watching the unfolding of Venus’ would be victory. Those who were not given the opportunity to watch it live had to content themselves in waiting for tweets from people who were watching the pageant live.

It was indeed a roller coaster ride for all the Filipinos who witnessed yesterday hostage drama at the Quirino Grandstand. As one Filipino brought shame to the country, another Filipino put the glory back and rose from the ranks to be crowned as 4th runner-up. After a long time of not having beauty titles, this is something to be proud of.

Although some were disappointed with the answer that Venus Raj gave, still landing in 4th place is not bad at all. When asked about one big mistake that she has done in her life, she answered saying that she has not committed a “major major mistake” in her life. Those who watched it believed that she should have answered it better. By far the question that she had was one of the best questions in this year’s beauty pageant. Still, being in the top 5 is a great honor already so nobody is complaining.

The 4th runner-up in this year’s Ms. Universe has truly proven her worth as she gave honor to the Philippines in this years competition. She almost didn’t make it this far as she was stripped of her crown because of inconsistencies in her birth record. She fought hard and her hard work paid off. Congratulations to the newest addition to the roster of Filipina beauty queens who brought honor to the Philippines and to all Filipinos all over the world, Venus Raj!

Tatlong beses itinanong ng PEP (Philippine Entetainment Portal) kay JC Tiuseco na iklaro ang mga issue niya tungkol sa napapabalitang breakup niya Maxene Magalona. Tatlong beses din niya itong tumanggi.

“Hindi, tahimik na ako,” sagot nito habang nakangiti. Nakausap ng PEP and young actor and TV host sa launch ng One Naturales sa SM Makati nitong Huwebes ng gabi.

Ayon kay JC, masaya na siya sa pagiging single at “workaholic.”

“Single na ko ngayon,” saad niya. “Masaya namang maging single, e. Actually ngayon I can comment na siguro workaholic ako ngayon. Kasi ngayon every day wini-wish ko na may work ako. Kasi pag wala akong work at nasa bahay lang ako, para akong magkakasakit. Parang iba yung feeling ko kapag nasa bahay at walang ginagawa. Gusto ko laging may work.”

Malamang ito ay sa dahilang nararamdaman ni JC na maganda ang takbo ng career niya ngayon. Kasama siya sa cast ng early primetime series sa GMA-7 na Langit sa Piling Mo, at host din siya ng QTV show na X-Life.

Aniya, “Oo naman. Super happy. Kasi I couldn’t ask for more, like, yun nga, sabi ko nga, hindi pa ko ganun katagal, tapos nabigyan na ko ng stable show. Wala na kong mahihiling.”

Nakasanayan na rin raw ni JC ang showbiz.

“Actually, mas comfortable na ako ngayon mag-acting sa Langit sa Piling Mo. Kasi sa crew, mga ibang actors din sa Langit, sobrang bait talaga. Sabi nga nila, yung buong cast ng Langit sobrang bait talaga. So, wala akong masabi talaga. Madaling magtrabaho,” pagpupuri niya. Ang mga kasali sa teleserye ay sina Heart Evangelista, Mark Herras, Katrina Halili, Daniel Matsunaga, at iba pa.

Ngunit nang tanungin siya ay nilinaw niyang nararamdaman niyang isa pa rin siyang newbie sa industriya.

“Oo naman, kasi one yar pa lang ako sa showbiz, so ang dami ko pang kailangan matutunan, ang dami ko pang hindi alam. Ang dami ko pang dapat pagdaanan,” sabi niya.

Beautiful couple Deither Ocampo and Rima Ostwani had to break up. But some good things never really last as the song goes. Rima who is still healing gave us a peek of what really happened. “There were a couple of very painful incidents that he put me through which I felt were unnecessary. That’s when I realized that he doesn’t really give our relationship importance.”

Rima explained further, “Kinausap naman niya ako. He was honest with me. He was having a hard time balancing between work and our relationship. I really felt very sad kasi dati naman, nababalanse niya.”

But Rima is coping well. “I am gathering strength from the people who love me. I try to stay positive. You have to pull yourself up. I know I lost an important part of me but I still have my life.”

Rima decided to break her silence after Diether made public interviews about their separation.

Goodbyes are painful. But they too, pass. But while the goodbye phase is happening, everything seems so dark. It takes endurance and faith to know that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. Only those who patiently wait are privileged to see this!

ABS-CBN.com spotted Angel Aquino rushing to make it to the thanksgiving celebration of Magkaribal last August 14. Angel–also known as Vera in the story–is very thankful for the success and the high praises that they are earning from the viewers. “It only means na very successful ang—Vera Couture dapat sasabihin ko tuloy—ang Magkaribal and we are all so grateful and happy that we are received very well by everyone even mga tao na hindi talaga regularly nanonood ng soap, they are also watching Magkaribal even mga lalaki so it is so overwheming!”

Angel considers Magkaribal as one of the biggest blessings in her life. Many noticed her acting prowess and her effectiveness as the antagonist in the story. “Naiisip ko dati hindi talaga (ako) napapansin and I am glad that now nakikita na yung mga effort that I put into (my work). It is the most different and difficult na character I have ever played kaya talagang napapansin.” ABS-CBN.com asked her where she gets her inspiration from and she said, “Kasi I have always liked watching the Sharon-Cuneta-Cherrie Gil scenes in their movies so kahit papano alam ko how a ‘maldita’ carries herself, ganun lang. I tried lang to look like that.”

Angel loves how colorful her character is and admits that it has big impact on her life. “Naku, minsan parang nadadala ko na sa totoong buhay na kapag binabasa ko yung script naiinis na talaga ako. May mga times na kapag nagto-throw lines kami, sometimes Gretchen (Barreto)’s character would say something na nakakainis, naaapektuhan talaga ako, nakakainis talaga si Victoria. Basta even us actors we don’t know what’s going to happen to each character and to the story, we are all always excited but we just know that we stay true to our characters.”

She shares that she is also glad to see Gretchen happy because of the success of their show. She feels that she they have become good friends since they started taping. “Kasi she has waited for this project for the longest time, more than a year before it finally came to reality. It’s really hers from the beginning. Madami nang nangyari, muntik na ma-shelve but it still pushed through and it is doing so well so kaya talagang hindi siya makapaniwala.”

Sexy actress Cristine Reyes has brushed off an allegation that her revelation about Rayver Cruz’s supposed feelings for her was a mere publicity stunt.

In her earlier “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” interview, Reyes confessed that Cruz courted her once, but she turned him down after learning about his reported romantic ties with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.

But rumor has it that the confession was just part of Reyes’s gimmick to promote her upcoming television series “Kristine,” of which Cruz was not a part of.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Reyes said she does not care if people refuse to believe her.

“Sabihin nila kung ano ang gusto nilang sabihin,” Reyes said. “Hindi ako gumagawa ng isyu kasi sila ang gumagawa ng isyu sa akin. Kayo (press) tanong kayo ng tanong, ‘yon ginagawan ng isyu. ‘Yon ‘yon kaya lumalaki.”

She maintained that she has no intention of hurting or ruining the reputation of other people when she made that revelation.

“Hindi ako nagsalita para manira. Nagsalita lang ako kung ano ang katotohanan, ‘yon lang. Hindi ko intention na makasakit o manira doon sa interview na yon. Kumbaga natanong lang ako at sumagot lang ako,” she said.

In her SNN interview, Reyes admitted that her relationship with Cruz did not blossom beyond friendship because of Geronimo.

“Minsan akala mo perfect na tapos may malalaman ka na may sabit pala. Akala ko that time walang involved na iba. Wala naman kasi akong alam sa kanila and ako parang pinakitaan ako na parang wala siyang [ka-relasyon],” she said.

Reyes said in the end she decided that it was better for her and Cruz to remain friends, noting that it was hard to be happy at the expense of others.

The sexy actress’s interview had in effect confirmed speculations about Cruz and Geronimo’s relationship. Up until today, Cruz and Geronimo are still denying the rumors.

As for Reyes’s part, she said she is not looking for a new romance.

Sa Chika Minute ng GMA news 24 Oras nitong Martes, sinabi ni Marian na walang dahilan para mag-away sila ni Dingdong, at lalong walang dahilan para magselos siya sa nobyo.

“Natatawa talaga sa mga isyu na ganyan. Porke dati sinabi ko na selosa ako, all the way kailangan ba selosa ako? Hindi naman ganun ‘di ba? Nakakaloka, at wala naman akong pagseselosan, sino?” pahayag ni Marian kay entertainment reporter Lhar Santiago.

Pero totoo ba na baka sila naman ni Dingdong ang susunod na magpapakasal pagkatapos nina Ogie Alcasid at Regine Velasquez?
“Mahirap naman kasi ‘yang pag-usapan (tapos) di naman matutuloy. So kapag sigurado na, dun na lang pag-usapan. Pero ngayon focus muna kami sa Endless Love,” ayon sa aktres.

Sa Huwebes ay kaarawan ni Marian, pero tulad daw ng mga nakaraang taon, walang plano ang dalaga na mag-celebrate at sa halip ay trabaho pa rin daw ang kanyang gagawin.

May taping umano siya ng Endless Love sa araw ng kanyang kaarawan. At dahil kasama niya sa trabaho si Dingdong, sapat na raw iyon para maging maligaya siya.

Actress Angelica Panganiban has once again addressed the controversy involving her, boyfriend Derek Ramsay and actress Gretchen Barretto. Alluding to the word war she had with the actress at the height of the hype concerning her boyfriend and Barretto’s pairing in “Magkaribal,” Panganiban was seemingly apologetic – even keen to bury the hatchet – with Barretto during the “Abunda Challenge” segment of “The Buzz” on Aug. 8. “Gusto kong humingi ng pasensya sa mga nabitawan kong salita,” she began. “Hindi ko siya kilala, hindi niya ako kilala. Ngayon naiintindihan ko [na siya]. Unti-unti ko siyang nakikila. At ang mga taong nakapaligid samin ang nagsasabing mabuti siyang tao. At [one of those] na nagsabi nuon si Derek mismo.” “So, sana hindi pa huli ang lahat para makapagsimula kami ng magandang simula.” “Kung nasaktan niya ako nasaktan ko rin siya kaya sorry and sana makipagbuild ako ng friendship sa kanya. Sana hindi pa huli ang lahat.” Panganiban was quite candid all throughout the interview. She even accommodated questions concerning her past relationship with actor Carlo Aquino.

The “Rubi” star allowed that one of her biggest regrets is allowing that relationship to sour the way it did. “Sana na-maintain namin ‘yong friendship,” she lamented. She also shared having had a past boyfriend being “stolen” by “a friend.” “Nakakabaliw,” she related, “Parang iniwan ka ng lahat. Parang wala kang matakbuhan.” She also discussed controversial photos involving herself-including one where she purportedly was caught undressing; and one where she had her hands in the board-shorts of boyfriend Derek Ramsay. In the interview, Panganiban also admitted that her mom sometimes feels jealous of the love and attention she showers Ramsay. “Ako’y babaeng nagmamahal lang ng lubusan. Pero ngayon alam ko na. Nababalanse ko na ang lahat,” she emphasized.

Hunk actor Piolo Pascual has ironed things out with Megastar Sharon Cuneta and her daughter, young actress KC Concepcion.

In a press conference for Pascual’s latest endorsement, Quickchow, the actor admitted that he personally talked to Cuneta to resolve a controversy involving his 13-year-old son Iñigo.

“Siguro, as a mom, she just really wants me to say my piece about the issue and naitawid naman. Okay na I visited her (Cuneta) last Sunday in her dressing room,” Pascual said.

The actor added he felt “relieved” after his heart-to-heart talk with the megastar.

“Napakaliit ng industriya natin and she’s not the person na puwede mong baliwalain. She’s the mom of KC. She’s the megastar,” said Pascual.

Pascual, a single dad, has publicly admitted that he is wooing Concepcion.

Iñigo, Pascual’s only son, recently got involved in a controversy after pranksters used his name and pretended to be him on Twitter to attack Concepcion. Concepcion was called nasty stuff in the same Twitter account.

Cuneta did not take this sitting down.

In his formal statement, however, Pascual clarified that his son has never maintained a Twitter account, and that Iñigo’s Facebook page had been hacked. He also apologized to the mother and daughter.

To prove that everything is now okay between him and Cuneta, Pascual bared that he will be part of the megastar’s upcoming concert dubbed as “Sharon Cuneta: Mega Drama concert” at the Araneta Coliseum on August 7.

Pascual said from the start he wanted to shield his son from showbiz issues.

“Ang sa akin I have to protect and defend my son against issues. First of all, hindi siya from showbiz and I have to protect his privacy. He’s not based here,” said Pascual.

Iñigo is studying in the United States.

Pascual also believes that youngsters need supervision when using the Internet, specifically signing up in social networking websites such as Twitter and Facebook.

“Mahirap kasi ang daming pumatol accusing people of certain things. At least we set the record straight na it’s not really my son. Kung sinuman ang naglabas noon sana ay makonsensiya sila because relationship ang sinisira nila,” he said.

The hunk actor vowed to investigate the incident to find out who did the prank. Pascual suspects the persons or group behind it might also be based in the US.

“Ang pag-hack naman ng Facebook at Twitter ay worldwide yan. Nasa Internet yan. Noong nakita ko yon, na-forward sa akin at nabasa ko lahat, talagang sinabi ko na hindi gagawin ng isang bata yon,” he added.

Does his son get jealous of the women who get close to him?

“Natural lang sigurong reaction yon. Even when I was at his age, ganoon din ako. Puberty stage ‘yon. Siguro the most important thing is you spend time with him, give him the attention he needs and he deserves, lesson learned din siguro,” he replied.

Looking at the positive side of the controversy, he said the issue has strengthened his relationship with his son.

‘It gives us better insights at mas naintindihan namin ang isa’t isa. At I think bottom line, even before it happens, we knew where we’re coming from already,” the actor said.

When asked about his love life, meantime, Pascual said it is sort of “active” because of Concepcion.

Hindi makapaniwala si Mark Anthony Fernandez na natuloy na sa wakas ang muling paghaharap nila ng kanyang ex-girlfriend na si Claudine Barretto. Ilang weeks kasing inaabangan ang one-on-one interview nila sa Showbiz Central, at noong August 1.

Sa kuwento ni Mark sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), habang papunta raw siya sa studio ay wala siyang nararamdamang kaba dahil naka-concentrate siya sa pagmamaneho. Pero noong papalapit na siya ay doon siya nakaramadam ng matinding kabog sa dibdib.

“Gano’n pala ‘yon talaga,” nakangiting sabi ni Mark. “Hindi mo masasabi talaga ang mararamdaman mo. Akala ko parang okey lang. Interview lang naman ito. Ano ang ikakakaba ko, di ba?

“Pero noong dumating na ako sa studio, pinagpawisan na ako. Parang nanlalambot ako. Pero normal na reaction lang daw ‘yon ng utak at katawan natin, lalo na kung yung kaba mo, e, tinatago mo. Kaya nag-relax muna ako at nagpalamig muna before ako umakyat sa stage. Nakatulong yung nakita ko ang mga fans namin ni Claudine. Yung may mga edad na. It somehow helped to ease me kasi alam ko na may support group na nasa audience.”

THE CLOSURE. Ayon kay Mark, noong matapos ang interview ni Claudine sa kanya ay nag-usap pa raw sila. Naganap na ang closure na matagal nang dapat na nangyari sa kanila.

“Bilang lalake, inaamin ko na kasalanan ko ang lahat nang nangyari sa amin ni Claudine,” sabi ni Mark. “Masyado tayong reckless noon. Dala kasi ng kabataan. We didn’t know any better kasi. But I like to thank Claudine for being so understanding during those times. Alam ko na nadadamay siya sa pagiging magulo ko kaya I asked for her forgiveness.

“I know that I gave her so much pain lalo na noong bigla akong nawala na lang. Ayoko na kasi siyang madamay pa sa mga pinagdadaanan ko. But she said nga na I have nothing to say sorry about at wala akong naging kasalanan sa kanya. May rason nga raw ang lahat ng nangyari sa buhay namin. I really appreciate what she said and sana nga this will be a start of a new friendship sa aming dalawa.”

Isa raw sa mga naituro sa kanya ni Claudine ay ang hilig nito sa pagbabasa ng libro. To this day daw ay ginagawa pa rin ito ni Mark.

“Noon kasi, hindi ako mahilig sa mga ganyan. Lakwatsa lang ang alam kong gawin noon!” tawa ni Mark. “Pero si Claudine, para siyang teacher. May mga pinapabasa siya sa akin na mga books niya. Naiinis pa ako noon, pero binabasa ko pa rin kahit papa’no.

“Hindi ko alam na isa ‘yon sa mga dadalhin ko up to now. I am reading many books now, mostly about religion and mga philosophical books. Siguro nga, dala-dala ko pa yung itinuro sa akin na ‘yon ni Claudine. I’d like to thank her for teaching me that. Masarap talaga ang magbasa.”

Dagdag ng 31-year-old actor, “I am so happy na napatawad na ako ni Claudine. I am forever sorry sa mga nagawa ko sa kanya noon, and just lately, yung mga naging usap-usapan na hindi maganda. We’ve fixed everything, and this is a new chapter sa buhay namin.”

Excited na rin si Mark na makatrabaho si Claudine. May gagawin silang isang episode sa drama anthology ni Claudine, at sana raw ay matuloy na rin ang movie na gagawin nila for Viva Films and GMA Films.

“Hinihintay na lang namin ang script for the episode,” banggit ni Mark. “Gusto kasi nila ay very special ang episode na ‘yon para sa muling pagsama namin sa TV. Dapat lang naman kasi dahil isang mahusay na aktres si Claudine and she only deserves the best.”

Kris Aquino just arrived a few days ago from her three-week vacation with sons Baby James and Joshua in the United States, and already went to work as one of the hosts of noontime TV show “Pilipinas Win na Win.”

Kris Aquino shared on her interview video with Boy Abunda and she has given up on her marriage with James Yap as she just wants to be true to herself that both of them have been living miserable lives for years together. She said further that she had been in love with James but realized that there are just so many uncommon things between the two of them that had resulted to many misunderstandings that the love had just faded away.

She also dispelled all rumors about her being pregnant or she is in love with another man, which some names floated like that of Mayor Junjun Binay, Sen. Escudero and Coco Martin.

At the end of it, everything seems already set for Kris Aquino to live a separate path of life and all legal actions are already on their way in order for her marriage with James Yap be considered null and void.
