Thursday Night at the Movies.. errr, TV

Not so much of a Philippine Entertainment post tonight.. But again, it is still entertainment. Thursday night at the couch! Get ready for tonights super TV series hit back-to-back.

Every Thursday is “Super” Thursday! Why? Because it’s the night Smallville and SUPErnatural airs in the US.

I am a big fan of these two great series. I have been following the story of young clark kent for years and also watching Supernatural online.

So I am inviting you to watch turbulence, Smallville Episode 16 and Supernatural Episode 16 Head of a Pin in Streaming video!

NEW YORK – Natasha Richardson, a gifted and precocious heiress to acting royalty whose career highlights included the film “Patty Hearst” and a Tony-winning performance in a stage revival of “Cabaret,” died Wednesday at age 45 after suffering a head injury during a beginners’ ski lesson. Alan Nierob, the Los Angeles-based publicist for Richardson’s husband Liam Neeson, confirmed her death in a written statement.

Just a few days after Jomari Yllana and Pops Fernandez announced their break-up, Maui Taylor was seen with Jomari in Bataan, fueling rumors that she could have been the cause of the couple’s split.

There were pictures taken in Bataan which prove that both of them were in the same group of friends, including one particular photo where Yllana is seen leaning towards Maui, with his nose just inches from the sexy actress’s hair.

In an interview with SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon on Thursday, Taylor said they never intended to meet in Bataan, claiming that her group came first before Yllana’s. “Actually I asked him nga kung what happened. Ayaw naman niya mag elaborate. So let’s leave it at that na lang.”

She said that Yllana was evasive when she asked him about the reason for the break-up, but he later told her that he and Pops “just don’t get along anymore.”

Taylor also denied allegations that she was the reason for the breakup. “Oh, my God, please, for the record, hindi po ako ang third party. Yung itsura kong ito, I know hindi ako yung type ni Joms,” Taylor said.

Francis Magalona – “Best Brother” award


After the demise of Francis Magalona, “he is given presidential medal of merit for promoting nationalism through his songs, Malacañang said Monday.” Before we head on with PEP’s feature about Francis Magalona being awarded by his brother the “Best Brother” award, let me just say that the Presidential Medal of Merit award would have been more appreciated by Francis Magalona and his friends and family if it was given WHILE HE IS STILL LIVING.

Francis Magalona, Master Rapper’s Last Moments

Here are part of the story from PEP where they interview the Family of the great late Francis Magalona, askin gthe last moments of the Master Rapper:

“He was awake. He was sedated, but the doctor told me to talk to him. I want to clear yung mga haka-haka. Never siyang naging comatose. Never siya…wala siyang bugbog or anything sa body. Talagang alert na alert siya… ang mind niya. Except, of course, nung na-sedate na siya. Binigyan siya ng mga gamot para hindi niya maramdaman yung masakit sa katawan niya.

“Kasi sa leukemia, masakit siya kapag naggu-grow back yung bone marrow na pinapatay ng chemo. So, yun lang. Para sa akin naman, yung last moment was like hindi naman naiba sa ibang araw kasi lagi ko naman siyang nakakasama, so alam na alam ko siya. You know, parang it went too fast. But thinking about it, I think it’s better that way na mabilis,” lahad ni Pia.

Eraserheads, Jynx?

Tomorrow night, Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Markus Adoro will be performing as The Eraserheads in teh second  part of their One-NIght Reunion Concert called “The Final Set“.

Today, the Philippines’ Master Rapper, Francis Magalona, has died of blood cancer. He was supposed to be a special guest for the Eraserheads The Final Concert in Mall of Asia Concert Ground.

If you can remember the Eraserheads One Night Reunion Concert last August 2008, you may recall that a day before the concert, Ely Buendia’s mom died.

Then it pops to mind.. is the Eraserheads jynx or something?

Francis Magalona, 44 Died from Cancer/Leukemia


Francis Magalona, 44 years old, died of Leukemia, cancer of the blood today. Sad, sad day today for the whole Philippines. Francis Magalona was loved by millions with that ‘baby face’ image and aura.

“Francis Magalona, acknowledged as the Philippine’s Master Rapper, died earlier today, March 6, after a long battle with leukemia.

Francis’s death was announced on national television by Vic Sotto in Eat Bulaga! a few minutes ago. Before his treatment, Francis used to co-host the longest-running noontime show being aired on GMA-7.

Francis was 44.”

Jomari Yllana Broke up with Pops Fernandez

Jomari Yllana and Pops Fernandez no longer a couple? This is the hot issue at PEP today. According to Jomari Yllana, he and Pops Fernandez haven’t spoken with each other for 2 weeks now.

“Never kaming nag-away ni Pops,” panimula ni Jomari. “Nagtatalo kami, pero pagkatapos nun, okey na uli. Yung pagtatalo namin, mga mababaw lang. Pero ito, iba, e.”

Here’s what we read:

Hindi cool off kundi may usapang “hiwalay” na raw muna ang magkasintahang sina Jomari Yllana at Pops Fernandez.

Sa panayam ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Jomari sa telepono kahapon, March 2, sinabi niyang may dalawang linggo na silang hindi nag-uusap ni Pops mula nang magdesisyon silang maghiwalay muna.

Hindi naging madali kay Jomari ang kanilang hiwalayan ni Pops dahil wala raw matibay na rason para tapusin na ang kanilang relasyon.

Ayon sa actor-concert producer, naging madalas lang ang kanilang pagtatalo na hindi nila makontrol. Sa halos magtatatlong taon na nilang magkasintahan ni Pops,  nito lang daw mga nakaraang linggo naging madalas ang kanilang pagtatalo.

“Never kaming nag-away ni Pops,” panimula ni Jomari. “Nagtatalo kami, pero pagkatapos nun, okey na uli. Yung pagtatalo namin, mga mababaw lang. Pero ito, iba, e.”

“Irreconciliable differences” ang isa sa nakikitang rason ni Jomari sa madalas nilang pagtatalo ng Concert Queen.

Tumanggi nang magdetalye si Jomari ng nais niyang ipahawatig tungkol dito para mapangalagaan daw ang privacy nilang dalawa ni Pops. Naniniwala pa rin kasi ang aktor na posibleng makapag-usap pa sila ng Concert Queen para ayusin ang problema nila.

“Naniniwala akong mag-uusap pa rin kami. Kailangan pa rin naming mag-usap,” sabi niya.

Hindi alam ni Jomari kung magkakabalikan pa sila ni Pops sa deklarason nila ng hiwalayan.

“Nag-usap na kami na hiwalay muna. Hindi ko alam kung saan papatungo ito,” malungkot na sabi ng aktor.

POSSIBLE REASONS. Alam ni Jomari na may mga susulpot na isyu kaugnay sa rason ng hiwalayan nila ni Pops, gaya ng third party at kakulangan ng panahon nila para sa isa’t isa. Lalo na’t nagsimula na ang Concert Queen na umarte sa I Love Betty La Fea sa ABS-CBN at siya naman ay nag-taping na ng Zorro para naman sa GMA 7.

Posibleng maturo ring dahilan ng hiwalayan ang kakatapos na Missing You reunion concert ng dating mag-asawa na sina Pops at Martin Nievera noong February.

“Walang third party,” diin ni Jomari. “Wala sa amin ang ganon. Hindi puwedeng third party ang maging rason.

“Yung oras para sa isa’t isa, dati naman kaming walang oras, lalo na noong nagsimula yung production ng Missing You. Never naging problema sa amin ang time. Nakakapag-usap naman kami.

“Definitely,” patuloy niya, “hindi naging issue o problema sa amin yung reunion concert. Masaya kami pareho sa outcome no’n. In fact, breaking all the records sa local [concert scene] yung Missing You, and we’re happy about it. Walang immediate na plano para sa repeat, kasi nga na-break mo na yung record, e. Parang hindi maganda kung magre-repeat pa.”

May lungkot man sa nangyayari ngayon sa lovelife niya, nakukuha pang magbiro ng aktor. Nang tanungin namin kung madalas ba silang mag-clash noon ni Pops, mabilis siyang tumanggi at nagsalita ng: “Ano ‘yan, Clash of the Titans?” natatawang punchline ni Jomari.
